Project Connect Poster and Analysis

The design of the poster revolves around the Project Connect theme of self-development.

The font that I used is called Pencil Pete. I downloaded this font as it looks like it has been written in pencil, which is usually what a child writes in. This makes it look like a child wrote this to their future self. Its also sans-serif, which is more appealing towards a younger audience and therefore suitable for students.

The notebook is a symbol of learning, and its colours (white and blue) reflects innocence and patience, as well as making the poster look instructional.

The yellow pencil adds colour to the poster, as well as a feeling of optimism and hope- a subliminal message that picking it up and learning is the key to your future.

The doodles around the quote further the effect of the poster looking like a child wrote it, as younger ages tend to doodle more. I used an arrow to show a navigation path in the design, and add to the quote that doing something in the present will directly affect the future.
